How To Measure A Mortice Lock
- Look on the edge of the lock (faceplate) for any Names and numbers, i.e. Chubb 5 Lever BS3621 (this is normally in a heart shaped kite mark, so look carefully)
- Measure the lock depth and height.
- Measure from the outside edge of the lock (faceplate) to the centre of the keyhole, this is called the backset.
- Take note of the colour of the faceplate or keyholes.
